VFW Scout of the Year Competition

Have you distinguished yourself by earning one of these awards?

Venturers and Sea Scouts now eligible for VFW "Scout of the Year" Scholarship

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) annually recognizes outstanding Scouts and awards the national winner with a $5,000 scholarship and a trip to the VFW's National Convention, which is held annually at a select host city. Second- and third-place winners are awarded $3,000 and $1,000 respectively.

To be eligible you must be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or Sea Scout Ship.

AND

Have received the Eagle Scout Award, Venture Silver Award or Quartermaster Award.

Have demonstrated practical citizenship in school, Scouting and community.

Have reached your 15th birthday and is enrolled in high school at the time of selection.

Have submitted a complete entry to a VFW Post in his/her community by March 1, 2005.
