Purpose: The purpose of the Sea Scout Academy (SSA) is to provide a quality training opportunity for Sea Scouts to aid in gaining knowledge required in achieving advancement while having a good time. It is not the intent to sign off advancement requirements but to provide the opportunity to learn the skills needed to return home and have local ships sign off the advancement. Location: The SSA will be held at the San Diego Youth Aquatics Center (SDYAC) and Fiesta Island Youth Camp (FIYC) located on Fiesta Island in Mission Bay Park. Address is 1750 Fiesta Island Rd, San Diego, and CA 92108. Fee: The on time fee is $25.00. This will cover program materials, meals (1 breakfast, 1 lunch, 1 dinner and 1 evening snack), and camping fees. Payments must be received by March 1, 2006 at the San Diego - Imperial Council office at 1207 Upas Street, San Diego, CA 92103. A late fee of $15.00, for a total fee of $40.00, will be assessed to all registrations received after the deadline. This event is subject to cancellation if a minimum number of registrations are not received prior to the on-time deadline. Refund Policy: Refunds for cancellation will be honored if received in writing at least two (2) weeks prior to the event. Cancellations after that date may not be honored. Camping: Camping will take place in the adjacent Fiesta Island Youth Camp as part of the registration fee. All participants must check-in at the SDYAC for campsite assignments. Participants will be held accountable for any charges for damage. Participants must provide their own tents and sleeping bags. Meals: Meals will be provided at the SDYAC. Special dietary needs should be indicated on registration form. Dress Code: All participants are required to be in appropriate attire at all times. Sea Scout uniforms will be required for Evening flag ceremony and Saturday dinner. Conduct: All participants are required to submit a signed Code of Conduct at registration on Friday evening. |
